Who said Rubik’s Cubes are easy? The colorful 3-D combination puzzle can really take a toll on you when you spend hours trying to get all the colors in one place. For one Uruguayan artist, however, it’s a piece of cake.

Christian Goñi has become a social-media sensation thanks to his free time and love for Rubik’s Cubes. On Instagram, he’s a self-proclaimed speedcuber, who builds faces out of the colorful cubes while he’s at work (where he sells Rubik’s Cubes).

Nicky Jam performs in Amsterdam, Netherlands on June 1, 2018.

He notes that he spends most of his time assembling murals with 1,000 cubes, re-creating faces of music, sports and film celebrities. Each mural, which stands at 6 feet tall, takes Goñi approximately five to six hours to build.

He was put on our radar after reggaeton artists such as J Balvin and Daddy Yankeeshared his impressive art on social media.

Ariana Grande on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon

It is no secret that Grande is incredible at celebrity impressions. The pop star took it one step further when she appeared on the Musical Genre Challenge segment on The Tonight Show. Her rendition of Drake‘s “God’s Plan” as a 90’s diva hit had the audience wishing there was a full version. Not to mention her goth-rock version of Kendrick Lamar‘s “Humble,” which was totally spot-on.

Cardi B on Saturday Night Live

Pregnancy speculation circulated around Cardi for a while after the “Bodak Yellow” rapper got engaged to Migos’ Offset. The rumors were confirmed during her second performance on SNL. While singing her new hit “Be Careful,” the camera zoomed out and you could see Cardi’s baby bump through her white dress.

The 18 Most Unexpected Collaborations Of 2018

The 18 Most Unexpected Collaborations Of 2018

More than ever, it seems that 2018 was the year of the unexpected collaboration. Ed Sheeran‘s duet of “Perfect” with Beyoncé rang in the New Year, spending about a month at No. 1 on the Hot 100, and by the time summer rolled around, Cardi BBad Bunny and Balvin‘s “I Like It” was inescapable.

But what about the other unlikely collaborations — the truly unanticipatable genre marriages; the songs whose multi-artist credits warrant a double-take — that didn’t top the Hot 100 and other such charts this year?

Billboard’s 100 Best Songs of 2018: Critics’ Picks

From Sting and Shaggy’s somewhat head-scratching team effort, to Young Thughopping on an Elton John song, Billboard has rounded up the most unexpected collaborations of 2018. Check them out below.

Sting, Shaggy, “Don’t Make Me Wait”

“Don’t Make Me Wait,” the lead single from Sting and Shaggy’s collaborative album 44/876, has the Jamaican fusion artist and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer cheerfully vibing. The song’s pop appeal extends to the rest of the album, and bridges the duo’s otherwise very different sounds. Once again for those in the back (or, rather, those who didn’t tune into the 2018 Grammys): Sting and Shaggy recorded an entire album together.

Clean Bandit, Marina, Luis Fonsi, “Baby”

Welsh singer-songwriter Marina, now sans “the Diamonds,” flexes her operatic vocals on this flamenco-infused Clean Bandit bop. It’s also another winning English-language collaboration for Luis Fonsi (see: “Despacito,” “Echame La Culpa”) — if not charts-wise, then certainly in the eyes of indie popheads who have their fingers on the pulse.
